The Capital Regional District is experiencing significant population growth while trying to satisfy service delivery within aging facilities. Based on considerations of growth and enhancing efficiencies in service delivery, the CRD explored three options to accommodate future service needs – within administrative functions and operations/field work functions.
We interviewed Senior Leadership and Managers from 20 divisions to build a set of key drivers for the project, we developed facility programs for the options, provided capital cost estimates, and evaluated each option (with site requirements) to determine a preferred approach to accommodate the identified growth and organizational efficiencies.
In our final report, a CRD Space Efficiency Report, we were able to provide a solid feasibility framework for optimizing the use of resources identified in the study and creating an implementable strategy for support moving forward.
