Background: Cornerstone was contracted by the Arts Office, a bi-municipal agency of the City and District of North Vancouver, to lead a consultation and communications program to support the development of a new Cultural Plan.
Our Solution: The aim of the program was to involve creative sector stakeholders, the arts community, and the general public in collaborative discussions regarding aspirations, opportunities and challenges in arts and culture in North Vancouver. Cornerstone and the client landed on a World Café (facilitated workshop by invitation); two Town Centre Open Houses; and an online public survey. Cornerstone also drafted communications content and designed the initiative’s look and feel. Notification relied heavily on online and other social networks to encourage participation.
Results: Tom Sadleir facilitated a successful 75-participant World Café and designed Town Centre open houses. A draft Cultural Plan was developed and consulted on, and a revised plan was adopted by North Vancouver councils and is now guiding cultural services and programs on the North Shore.
