Pacific Trails PipelineBackground: Pacific Northern Gas developed a 500 km pipeline to transport natural gas from Summit Lake, B.C. to Kitimat Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).  Cornerstone was retained to develop and implement a public consultation, communications and community relations program for the project, in support of environmental assessments under the B.C. Environmental Assessment Act and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Acts.

Our Solution:  Cornerstone identified community leaders along the route and worked to identify and address any concerns. We also conducted 12 open houses, coordinated the development of all communications materials, and tracked and summarized all participant input during regulatory processes. Cornerstone also designed and implemented an extensive First Nations consultation program.

Results: The project received provincial and federal approval, was sold to Apache Corporation in 2011, and is awaiting construction.
