Background: Port Metro Vancouver proposed to develop container-handling facilities at Roberts Bank in Delta, B.C. The expansion program required a regulatory review under the B.C. Environmental Assessment Act and the Canada Environmental Assessment Act. Cornerstone was retained by Port Metro Vancouver on the design and implementation of a consultation and communications program
Our Solution: Cornerstone provided strategic advice to the Port; prepared communications materials (e.g. fact sheets, newsletters, website updates); organized and facilitated public events including well-attended open houses and public meetings; tracked and helped manage issues; and, prepared consultation summary reports and documentation for provincial and federal environmental assessments.
Results: The project, including its consultation and communications program, received provincial and federal approval and Deltaport Third Berth opened its gates to business in 2010.
